We are Loop
We redefine what an earplug should sound, look and feel like. Whether it's hearing protection or comfort for your ears, Loop enables you to live life at your volume. Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we've helped more than 2,000,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noises at bay. In 2022 we grew from 35 to 120 Loopers and this year we'll double the current team once again. Our Headquarters is based in Antwerp, with many employees dotted across Europe and the world.
Not to brag about it, but we've recently been named the fastest-growing technology company in Belgium (according to Deloitte - October 2022 awards), and The New York Times named us 'best earplugs for concerts and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us 'a life changer'. Pretty cool, right?

About the role:
Loop Earplugs is the leading provider of innovative earwear. Earplugs, innovative? Really? Yes, really. And we're not done yet. We want to become the leader in enhanced hearing. Which means: a ton of disruptive new products, maybe even services. The ideas are there. The ambitions are too. We'd like to take matters into our own hands and speed things up. That's why we're seeking an Acoustic Test Engineer to join our team at our Antwerp office.
As a key member of our Advanced Engineering squad, you'll play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge hearing protection and earwear products. From acoustic testing to crafting sound architectures and advising on prototypes, you'll be the go-to expert for all things acoustic, ensuring top-notch performance.
But wait, there's more! Our Acoustic Lab in Antwerp is your playground for unleashing your experimental side. Dive into exciting technologies, fine-tune testing systems, and stay up-to-date with industry trends to drive innovative solutions and maintain Loops' competitive edge.
What you'll do:
Collaboration and Support: Collaboration is key, and you'll have the chance to work closely with our brilliant Senior System Engineer, Tom, as your reporting manager and sparring partner. Alongside Maarten, our Senior Acoustic Engineer, and a diverse group of talented engineers and product developers, you'll shape the hearables of tomorrow.
Develop and execute acoustic testing procedures: You'll design and implement robust test plans and methodologies to evaluate the acoustic properties and performance of our hearing protection solutions. This includes conducting tests for noise reduction, frequency response, sound quality, and other critical acoustic parameters.
Utilize advanced testing equipment and software: You'll operate and maintain state-of-the-art acoustic measurement equipment, such as sound level meters, acoustic analyzers, and data acquisition systems. Leverage software tools for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
Perform acoustic measurements and analysis: You'll conduct precise and accurate acoustic measurements in controlled environments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal testing protocols. You'll analyze test data, identify trends, and provide insights to guide product design and improvement efforts.
Documentation and reporting: You'll maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, results, and findings. Generate clear and concise reports summarizing test outcomes, providing recommendations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
How you'll do it:
- Degree in Acoustic Engineering
- Professional experience in acoustic engineering or related roles (audio or hearing protection experience? Rock on!)
- Experience with acoustic testing equipment, such as sound level meters, microphones, and analyzers and familiarity with software tools for data analysis and visualization, such as MATLAB, Python, or similar applications are advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of acoustic principles: understanding of acoustic fundamentals, including sound propagation, frequency response, noise measurement techniques, and acoustic testing standards.
- Strong communication skills (fluent in English - written and spoken)
- Embrace the Antwerp office as your acoustic playground (we're open to people who can relocate).
- Analytical and problem-solving prowess: data interpretation and statistical analysis? You're on track!
- Innovative mindset: bring on the fresh ideas and inventive solutions
- Attention to detail and analytical skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct precise measurements, analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve acoustic-related issues.
Join the Loop team and let's create innovative, high-performance hearing protection solutions and earwear together! Be part of the sound revolution that will shape the future of how we experience audio.
